Our Married Little Christmas Season.

I absolutely love this time of the year :) It's been a wonderful season and lots of wonderful things have happened within the last few months. I am so grateful to have the love and support of countless friends and family. Oh how we love them!

For Christmas this year Preston and I went to Manti to visit his family for Christmas Eve. It was so fun and it was great to be a part of their sweet family traditions. We went to Walmart and everyone got to pick their favorite thing to eat and we cooked them all up and had a grand Christmas Eve feast! There were shrimp, tomales (mine and Preston's pick), hashbrown patties, artichokes, coconuts and his sister made these truly amazing remade oreo cookies with drizzled chocolate on the tops. OH MY...  it was so fun! :) what a great tradition! After, we opened presents and found we had gotten comfy p.j.s to wear to bed! It was great to see his family and enjoy the Christmas Eve with a phone call from Jeremy (brother on a mission) in Kenya, Africa! He sounded so different but it was cool to watch as they passed the phone around and how excited and happy the family was to hear his voice :)

Christmas morning we awoke (after a nice morning of sleeping in) excited to spend our first Christmas morning together married! It was so fun to watch each other open presents and stockings we had thought of to get one another. I was so surprised at how well Preston knew what I wanted/needed! He did so good! He got me gloves, some cute shirts to wear, and a sweet black coat that I really wanted! He even surprised me with an electric piano :) I was so excited! What a great first Christmas it was!

Later that day, we went to Sandy to see my family :) It was awesome too! We got a few more things from my parents such as a stocking with goodies and a new T.V.! Something we will get to use for a while in growing our home together in the years to come. It was fun spending the time and seeing my family and relatives. I always enjoy watching my family interact and seeing them really come together on the holidays we get together, and this Christmas was no different :) I love my family :)

Whew this is a long post :) but THANK YOU for reading this and if you're still reading it must not be too boring ;) my birthday came next. It gets a little hectic with my birthday being the 30th of December and all but it is fun too :) At least my birthday is always well decorated (with Christmas decorations). In the morning, my cute husband made and brought me breakfast in bed (one of the birthday traditions in his family). It was so tasty and I was lucky to not have spilled any syrup on the sheets I had just washed! yes :) The day was full of birthday wishes and Preston took me to lunch at Spicy Thai where I had pineapple fried rice :) yum! When my honey left for work, the door bell rang and when I opened the door.... there was my mom and aunt Nancy, Zannie, my grandma and my cousin! They surprised me with Olive Garden salad and breadsticks and Papa Murphys pizza! We sat around and laughed about things and talked and watched "The Help". Oh it was a wonderful day :) I am so blessed.

Ciao for now!

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.

Things have been a teeny bit hectic around here lately. When we got home from our great honeymoon, it hit us that we had come home to crazy work schedules, bills and rent to pay and.... FINALS :( but we were so ready to face it all together :) Opening presents was a blast and we felt so incredibly blessed to have so many people's love and support. Thank you to all that helped make our wedding weekend so fantastic. We will never forget what a special day it was to be sealed for eternity and have everyone we love there share it with us.  :)

Yay for DeCeMbEr! :) Oh how I love this time of year with all the hot chocolate, decorated Christmas trees in the windows around town and the falling snow. ahh the Christmas season.. and this year I get to spend it with Preston! We were super excited to set up our little Christmas tree :)

Can you tell he was excited? He wanted to start our own tradition of Dad putting the star on the top of the tree :) Something I'm sure will remain a tradtion when we start having our own little tikes.

We started our Christmas season with a fun trip to Temple Square with Preston's family last Saturday. What a fun night it was! We went to Olive Garden, walked around the Gateway and saw the lights at Temple Square. His family is so cute and everytime I'm with them, I feel so incredibly lucky to have found Preston and that he was raised by such strong parents. I love that we both can share in the blessings of having came from amazing families and that we can turn to them for support, advice and know we are loved. :) Walking around Temple Square helped Preston and I remember our time there just last year when we walked around Temple Square before we'd even started dating. I will always remember the feelings I had walking around last year with him, thinking that he really could be my eternal companion. Boy was I right ;) So the other night strolling around the temple and looking at all the lit trees, I could't stop smiling as I realized how far we've come in our relationship since that night. I look forward to spending many more years walking around Temple Square holding Preston's hand. :)

Tonight Preston and I are off work (WAHOOO!!) and are going to Sandy to visit my family :) My parents invited us to go to The Forgotten Carols with them at my Dad's old High School. It will be super fun and loads of laughs, i'm sure. :) I love spending time with both of our families :)

What A Wonderful Life.

Ah the married life :) Now that we've been married almost 2 weeks, we can say how aweful being engaged was... what an awkward, hard, "you're almost there but... NOT QUITE" kind of mind frame it was those 3 and a half months we were engaged. blegh! It is SO much more fun and less stress feeling being married, finally :) Oh how i love my husband :)

ok... so honeymoon :) After the amazing day we had, getting married and seeing all the people we love and all, we really looked forward to relaxing together. Preston had arranged and took me to the Homestead Resort in Midway. It was chilly but we loved snorkeling in the naturally warm crater. GAh it was so fun :) I'm sure the other swimmers and such thought we were complete dorks by the way we swam over all the bubbles coming up from the scuba divers below us and trying to "trap" them with our hands... and faces. I will never forget it and how fun it was to do that with my most favorite man. (and it didn't really hurt that he looked super cute.. ahem I mean manly... in his swimming shorts ;) We were sad to come home with our "wedding day stress" colds but were ready for lotsa food that awaited us at Thanksgiving a few days later.

Our apartment is running and looking pretty schweet. :) pics to come!
